The Art of the Sun – The Hearts of The Sun

A bit of a epic, one that has a dawn rising about the opening but then you’d expect as much from a tune about the warm sphere in the sky. Meditation and contemplation gurus will think this a boon of a track because it has a universally ambient quality. And though that wouldn’t be my go to setting it reminded me of the Orb at times, little fluffy clouds and all that. But there is a hot core to ‘The Hearts of the Sun’ and it gives the piece a more visceral quality the longer it progresses. In fact it really made its 90’s bed as a result, going all middle of the night rave and a departure I wasn’t expecting. In fact there was something Jean Michel Jarre (Nick Mason in fact) that was integral to the piece, a groovier quality that revealed a pearl once the shell had been prised open minutes in. KH
