Kenzo Divic – During The Day

Picture a prawn alone on a dinner plate, about to be devoured but it still makes for a cosy feeling all the same and I really am not sure why. Kenzo Divic just adds on sugar lumps of more sweetness too with these acoustic forays that remind us of Elliott Smith, the way the words pour forward with a trailing brass in tandem and it feels like we’ve retreated back to a more innocent time as a result. This is music with all but the essentials removed, an emotional rollercoaster for those who wouldn’t even conceive of jumping on a fairground ride. Tender and ever so beautiful, with December here it feels like the perfect 3 minutes. KH
