def.fo – Autumn Leaves

A title like that was always going to be backed up with a tender quality and I can properly hear the parallels with Shack who do combine the rock with the folk and come back with something that is tunesome as can be. ‘Autumn Leaves’ actually generated a great bit sigh out of me at the chorus, something that doesn’t happen a whole lot but seemed apt in the face of such pretty indie pop movements. The strings embellish the feeling and the impression of a comfort blanket from def.fo (Tom Powell and friends) was confirmed. Swoonsome stuff and a boon for Teenage Fanclub fans. KH
