Coucou Babe – Lavenderbees

It was Beach House (vestiges of Slowdive too) that ‘Lavenderbees’ had me thinking of, slow cooked but a montage of sound that is made for summoning the heavens to our doors and such lofty comparisons can only mean one thing, yep Coucou Babe are the special ones. With Christmas on our doorsteps the expectation of wonder is peaking and this track sure does give us reason to think we’re smack bang right in the middle of it. On it swells for over 3 minutes and not a second feels out of place in evoking peak dreampop. KH
