Carswell & Hope – Scaffolding

Has a most gentle approach, pastoral you could say but with an ebb of flow so it feels like ‘Scaffolding’ is forever on the move, albeit it at a glacial pace and in the process reminded us of ‘Come Home’ by Findlay Brown. Carswell & Hope have a lovely folk manner in those vocals too so there are some Simon & Garfunkel parallels and the kind sound that would have gone down a storm on ‘The Holdovers’ movie soundtrack. Can predict a rush of Damien Jurado fans on the way. Perfectly suited to the days running up Christmas to a point where I even thought I heard sleigh bells at one point! KH
