Mikey Harms – Stock Market Trader

The way the chords are strummed is ever so instructive, all just window dressing for the main event offered up by a singer who knows that we’ve come to be entertained. So his variety of whoops, folk exclamations and general appetite for keeping us on our toes does make some impression and takes ‘Stock Market Trader’ beyond the usual singer-songwriter shtick. In fact it is something that balances the nostalgia wielding qualities with something that sound as if it could only have come from pulsating modern times. There is magic going on here for sure and there is plenty more where that came from on Mikey Harms new LP ‘Few and Far Between’. KH
