Layperson – Massive Leaning

We’ve been here before of course, Julian Morris of Layperson giving us about half a minute in and I knew he was about to beguile us all over again. It’s achieved through a rich vein of folk pop that they can conjure seemingly at will and while from one angle it appears like middle of the road country ramblings there is just so much flickering genius in its tender scaffolding. Portland’s Layperson make it sound so easy, the soft passages flooding our sensse but never in a way that feels like we’re drowning – more a levity. KH
