Katmaz – The Come Down

Not many can get this folk induced but stray completely clear of any accusations of sticking to the tried and tested. No Katmaz (Matthew Kaz) has a bright and bushy tailed reading going down on ‘The Come Down’, even if it was inspired by a natural disaster. That it is achieved in such a minimal way means we are treated to a ditty that has been shorn of excess to leave the vibrancy of those winning details, a singer pulling the strings, the strings colouring his words and most of a lightness of being that is crucial for navigating this burdensome and sometimes frightening world.
