Lewis McLaughlin – Getting Better

It moves along with a grace, anthemic for sure but never so that we’d get startled and so ‘Getting Better’ has us on side right from the off. At the helm is a Glasgow based bard in the Nick Drake mould but obviously sporting a backdrop that grows into something that has us energised and believing that life is there for the taking. ‘Getting Better’ is shot in the arm but most of all an arm around the shoulder and we need more of these good Samaritans set to music in our lives. A force for good then and an uplifting swell of indie-rock with light experimental turns into the bargain means we were helpless to resist. And to top it off there are Frightened Rabbit moments aplenty. KH
