Jules – Steering Wheel

‘Steering Wheel’s slow and tender way means that Jules has evoked a sense of intimacy that music today can rarely attain. But it is done with such finesse, a collection of parts, including the always affecting pedal steel guitar, that work together to evoke a drift of dreamy meloncholy and romance in equal measure. So the listener is given licence to drift off to a swell of hushed encouragement. This is only Toronto act Jules second single but it illustrates a creative capable of dreampop expression that will stand the test of time. We know there may not be many true happy ever after’s but navigating to that realisation is romance in itself. KH
