Glacial Palms – Ruin This City

Sure it is an off-kilter number, sure it won’t appeal to everyone but it sure did leave an indelible mark on me this Glacial Palms track. And that is down to several things, the chiming chords, the honeyed vocals and the general sense that we are hearing the purest of musical performance because there is romance so clearly wound through ever sinew of ‘Ruin This City’. The kind that could draw tears and an experience that can be relived every time we feel that music today has lost his capacity to move. A bit of Stuart Murdoch and Belle & Sebastian from this LA combo but a whole lot of beautiful experimentalism too. An absolute treat from start to finish. KH
