S.J. Armstrong – Silver Days

‘Silver Days’ is a proper torch song, you can feel it from the word go as the chugging rock tempo kicks in immediately. But that is not the best bit as the track grows legs as it continually lays the roadwork until we are sold the dream, wherein we’re not obliged but instead willing participants in the joyous singalong. What ‘Silver Days’ really has going for it is proper likeability, the kind that will doubtlessly soundtrack hundreds of long driving trips. An encouraging swell of noise then and something that easily has us returning time and again because of that upbeat aura. Really bodes well for S. J. Armstrong’s upcoming album later this year. KH
