Elkvilla – Better To You

‘Better To You’ opens with the most acoustic of drifts, the kind that is just made for a tender vocal and the Berlin based bard Adam Dudek is most definitely in possession of one of them. So ‘Better To You’ offers us up a folk love song that is all smooth contours, music by candlelight that is flush with the sort of harmonies that would knock the edges off anyone who feels that romance has slipped them by. With winter approaching we are going to need songs with the kind of warm heart that ‘Better To You’ affords, the gentle ebb and flow from words that issue a riposte to an overwhelming world. The orchestration towards the end just adds another tender layer to the first ray of light from Elkvilla’s upcoming 2nd EP ‘Waterfall’. KH
