Belle Butler – Quick

For something so minimal ‘Quick’ sure does pack an emotional punch. That combination of the finger picking chords and a voice that evokes Karen Peris from the Innocence Mission is as romantic an aura as I’ve heard in some time. But that is nowhere near the end of it for there are piano flourishes and indeed strings to add to the sense of quiet majesty. ‘Quick’ is a song that slows down the rapid fire nature of modern life and such is the beauty of the presentation from Australia’s Belle Butler we can only then appreciate the beauty of the serenity. A swell of encouragement to get us back to enjoying the moment and also introducing an artist capable of emotional heft in the tiny footprint of a cherub of a ditty. KH
