Bazemore – In Your Arbor

‘In Your Arbor’ sure does have a shoegaze feel, the woozy drama of ‘Loveless’ with the misty-eyed almost out of range vocals amid the shards of chords and churning ambient. And it takes on the feeling of something spiritual as a result, like it could have been played backwards in places too but with the sense of moving the game forward at the same time. It could be MBV but it could be Candy Claws too so we get a vibrant mix of dreamgaze and with a beating heart that becomes ever so apparent when the beats kick in. It is quite something and it is quite beautiful, breaking free from convention while reminding us why the 90’s still have a firm grim on our imagination. KH
