supergloom – Glass Ajar

Now that does feel like an 80’s ballad brought back to life but we should have known that LA quartet supergloom wouldn’t settle for just that so ‘Glass Ajar’ bursts into incandescent life and that canopy of sound before long. Yes, they’ve taken to the wheel of our affections again and this big noisy affair illustrates that they are drawing from a fuel tank with endless capacity to whisk us off into grandiose directions. Along the way there are twists and turns, a tuning down of the big gestures before they return and in greater volumes. Breathless stuff, a rollercoaster that will sustain multiple trips. KH
