Small Victory – Afraid of Change

Felt it was distant, making an impression for sure and when ‘Afraid of Change’ hit its stride the whole package moved in a manner that reminded of the great indie bands of yore. What Idaho’s Small Victory do really well is raising the stakes so that at no point did it ever feel like ‘Afraid of Change’ had given up on us. An ebb and flow that switched gears on so many occasions there was enought material to stuff an EP. And all the while the constant reassurances that the band were in complete control. Hard to believe it was all squeezed into just over 2 minutes. Makes for fantastical indie-rock. KH
