And The Broken – Puttin’ Out Fires (HURT)

The way it comes at us is ever so jangle filled but that was just to get draw us in because And The Broken have a much heavy aspect to their work. It definitely reminded me of Bowie, and late sixties Rolling Stones, but with an indie-rock leaning that I don’t think he ever quite fulfilled. I did like the tumble down effects from this Malmö act, never ramshackle but there is a cascading quality so it feels like ‘Puttin’ Out Fires (HURT)’ has engaged us in a swell of noise and neat vocal entwining. What I love about this track is the industry, the refusal to play by the rules and the general sense of unrestricted noise making. KH
