Jasmin OMEARA – Wolves

Didn’t take a whole lot of ‘Wolves’ to know that it was going to be an involving experience and that is in the main as a result of those chords which churn themselves over and over. Add in an illuminating singing voice which adds to what is a primal musical consistency, not least because it has a narrative that details the rocky road to true love. Jasmin OMEAEA could have come from the 80’s (Hazel O’Connor’s ‘Will You?’), could have been inspired by a spaghetti western but then none of that matters because ‘Wolves’ appears to have written its own rulebook here. Felt energised by its presence, the capacity for good music to stir the soul. KH
