Reminded me of Pulp before the dreamy vocals hoved into view and at that point it was like Mark Gardner softly mashed with Roy Orbison had taken over and with a summer frame of mind to go with the long sunshine filled days we’re experiencing at the moment. In other words and despite that title ‘Never An Easy Way Out’ felt like a psychedelic dream of a pop tune, levity from the near motorik tempo and the retro pop fantastic harmonies to offer up a charm that will appeal across the board, once that is said board includes me because I am in love. Recorded on a Tascam 424 cassette recorder so what’s not to like. KH
