Samuel Nicholson – Black Dog Funeral

There’s a languid kind of rock happening here from Edinburgh’s Samuel Nicholson. All very elegant and elegantly wasted at the same time. In other words an act who does things that only musicians who live their art can do and which is beyond the preserve beyond us mere mortals. Unsurprisingly ‘Black Dog Funeral’ was seeping inside of us and had us realising that the power of music is an all consuming one. It got us bad, Arcade Fire but back when they could channel an incandescent inner resolve. Taken from Nicholson’s new album ‘Birthday Suit’. KH
