Crikey it sure does wind itself up into a bit of a frenzy quickly and I can see how Connecticut’s Jake Kulak has compared himself to Bloc Party, a bit of the Arctic Monkeys going on too but all that comparison is just part of the story because the real highlight is that Jake can muster a chorus that is both memorable and confident. To a degree that the listener earns a cache of cool by the very act of being within earshot. Yep ‘Give Me A Second’ is a shot in the arm, a lesson in the art of the strut and an pocket rocket to put the energy back in a flagging day. A proper alternative anthem for the masses then. KH
