Always lift my head when this act rolls into town, not least because Nicole has a natural energy and distinctive quality to her vocal tact. ‘My Intention’ sounds like the best I’ve heard from her, this is proper carnival time with all the trimmings so that there always seems to be something musically alert and adept to concentrate the mind. Pop navigation that always finds a way to reinvent itself and become more soul that I’d usually lean to but at this degree of imagination it is impossible not to fall head over heels for this LA based act.
