Sumaroo – No One Likes The Kid

A slow kind piece of reflection and it reminded me of John Lennon in the first instance, a singer-songwriter with lots on his mind and a fine arrangement in which to fill the rest of us in on his predicament. The brass adds a layer of sumptous warmth to what is a grower of the best kind because it doesn’t speaks in tongues, instead telling us how it is and making it feel like we’re not alone in the constant struggle that is life. ‘No One Likes The Kid ‘ leaves us in a much better place than it finds us because it has empathy as its middle name.
