Future Heaven – Tides

I’m a bit of a shoegaze fan so ‘Tides’ was always going to ruffle my plummage and it does so because Future Heaven have a twin-pronged approach – both of which prove to be winners. The music for one is heavy duty and foraging, noisy as can be and a perfect foil for the lead vocals which espouse ethereal and dreamy and all things nice. Harks back to another time, the early 90s when this genre was at its most luminous. ‘Tides’ from this brand new Sydney 5-piece would have stood up well amid the classics of the genre back then. KH
