Elskavon – Blossom and the Void

It does pulse early doors, angling for our attention and getting it because all of the effects amount to beyond ambience and into dreamy pop. It quite reminded me of I Break Horses, the hint of shoegaze but most of all the svelte electronic pounding that has been softened so that we are permitted to levitate in a manner that is normally reserved for only those with a childlike wonder. Chris Bartels conjures magic here and that takes something special indeed, his new LP ‘Origins’ is released via Western Vinyl on February 17th. KH
