Bodywash – Massif Central

There was a band that sprouted out of New Order called Monaco and Bodywash (Chris Steward and Rosie Long) reminded me of them early doors on ‘Massif Central’. That is down to the intricate playing rather than the shoegaze vocals which are really from somewhere that that act never pondered. Wasn’t expecting the white hot chords but the combination with the haunted words makes for a virulent assault of the aural senses. Being the 90’s fan this was always going to trigger happy memories and Bodywash have succeeded in adding juice to a sound that recalls Ride’s debut LP and their early Ep’s. KH
