Gareth Inkster – Link

Canadian bard Gareth Inkster is one of our fave acts of the last few years for and ‘Link’ just continues in that fine tradition. That is because it takes us into winter with all sorts of Sufjan Stevens like harmonies, but with that unique GI heartfelt sweep to a degree that it feels like love is a possibility even for the terminally unloved. There is a dainty progression, the organic production that reminds of Elliott Smith as it goes so we know we’re in for the sort of talking to that leaves us with our heads held high, shoulders back and a fresh view of the world that makes the once impossible within our grasp.
