Well if ‘Play Ground’ is anything it is flippin’ noisy though that characteristic is not entirely obvious for the first while. But once we hit peak shoegaze redolent fluidity Zoon go all dreamy and noisy and Slowdive like and for an old head like me that is such a good thing. That Daniel Monkman and co. can craft the cathedral of sound that is required to match the likes of My Bloody Valentine is highly impressive. I even heard something of Sigur Ros going on in there somewhere so the whole spectacle becomes immersive, tunesome too and those tearducts that have been dormant for so long may be about to empty.
