The Mummy Cats – Sometimes I Feel

James Cox and Morgan Liveoak operate in a languid and slacker tropical world that is not too far away from where Pavement used to go, or perhaps a heavier Beach Boys or even Bob Dylan if he laid off the polemic a little. The effect could actually have us arriving at Deerhunter and each and every one of those references (Dylan aside) means that ‘Sometimes I Feel’ is a form of conjuring that feels like home. There is an uplifting quality, it even finds time to noodle along the way but the overall sense is of just jumping right in and to hell with the consequences. KH
