Gold & Youth – Empire State of Mind

You know if there wasn’t so much ballroom of romance going on here we could have been kidded into believing it was touched by the ghost of dreampop. But Gold & Youth have been reading from the manual according to Nick Cave, but with an orchard of fruit worth of sucrose behaviour to add to the template and that is thanks to the chemistry between those two leads who produce a song to have lovers waltz among other things. It’s all so elegant, oh so Cohen ‘Hallelujah’, I felt underdressed to be allowed in its presence but this pair never give off anything but a welcome vibe. A song to grown old too. KH
