Static Channel – High Tide

You can just tell it has an intense side because ‘High Tide’ asks of us to give ourselves over in the way many post-rock acts do themselves. But in doing so we are getting plenty in return, a swell of emotion and a composition that ups the ante without ever bursting our eardrums with the type of crescendo that this genre is best known for. One that is made for closing ones eyes to in other words. New instrumental tracks must face up to a hefty history and most fall by the wayside as a result but ‘High Tide’ just offers wave after wave that we couldn’t resist. KH
