Madeline Finn – Asleep In The Driveway

You’ll be thinking Fleetwood Mac but that wasn’t enough to put me off as Madeline has such a handle on how to make forlorn appear so alluring. There is classic pop behaviour at work here, a song that might have held court on golden hour schedules but which has the longevity to make every time we hear it feel just as special as the first time. ‘Asleep in the Driveway’ has a more conventional pop and country demeanour than I’d go for usually but there’s just a heart of melody, and that genuine feeling throughout, that rings so true.
