Burs – Lily – mp3hugger

Must say it had me thinking the Pixies and Deerhunter, all that undulation and the threats to break out into even more disharmony at any one of several point. And that is clear from both the playing and singing, as if the captain of our sailing boat is rocking across the waves so that that studio in the hull captures all that upheaval. Burs are so quintessentially 90’s that I was of course drawn to ‘Lily’ and all the off-kilter anthemic strokes that it pulls. Good to reminise and in this case we can do so with something entirely brand new. In Toronto’s Lauren Dillen, Ray Goudy, Devon Savas and Oliver Compton we have made four new friends for sure. KH
