Riley Pearce – The Water

That is a way to usher in memories of the bayou, it had me thinking the soundtrack to Southern Comfort but I was hasty in that call because this is much more of a Beta Band memory stoker. Not quite ‘Dry the Rain’ but there are definitely glorious parallels. And that means it is a little removed from convention and all the better for it, so much so that I feel it was pushing us with an irresistable charm. The moment where we gave of ourselves came at the brass section, like putty in Riley’s hands. This is tender and this is beautiful, drink it in. KH
