Now that is how to make a swell full of tropical and janging chords of the kind that recalls the dreampop acts of yore. ‘Sunbleached’ isn’t just satisfied with that however for they can call up all manner of arrangements to keep the piece in constant evolution, a credit to Tidal Wave and all who sail in them. One for the headphones as this is a vastness to the melancholy here, a real band making music to have us swooning like we used to. This is only Toronto’s Tidal Wave’s second ever release and already we’re lost in their vast pools of sound. KH
