The Royal Firecrackers – Dark Age

The quietest of introductions and the kind that just put us at ease, leaving the door open for something of a heartbreaker to come in and completely steal our heart. As debuts go it is quite something, reminding of Jane’s Addiction and all the incendiary passion that is wrapped up so as not to scare those who can’t take in surprises from out of nowhere. And we get that too on ‘Dark Age’ for there is a bolt for the horizon here that is warranted after that kind of warm-up. All adds up to a breathless experience from Seattle’s Greg Franklin, an exciting new act with all the promise in the world. KH
