Restrick – Alexander Greatest

What a slow and tempered piece of slacker but with a voice that comes from the choirboy/man category so we were left drawing on all our experience to make sense of it all. The one thing that was clear though was that Restrick had plenty of tricks up their sleeves and the kind that showcases a gift for songwriting that is drawn from the well named not-obvious-but-capable-of-beguiling-all-the-same. I sure fell for its charms, slowly slowly realising that we were licking our lips in solidarity with ears that were incapable of flagging similar devotion to the noise happening all around. Surprised we were that ‘Alexander Greatest’ was able to pull the rug from under us but that it did and we’re grateful for laying prostrate on the ground in front of it as a result. KH
