Push – Gubby – mp3hugger

There is a certain amount of Spiritualized (with Ian Brown on vox) like dreamy textures here but with vocals that probably has more in common with the dreampop movement. So delighted to see Mew in Push’s (from Tulsa, Oklahoma) list of infleunces and while I didn’t really hear a straight comparison I get why they went there. The Cure though seem more of a direct hit but what is clearly the more uplifting of our first encounter with this act is that they bring so much of themselves to the piece too. Nothing else for it then losing ourselves in the mix, the floating harmonies so divisively challenged by the rolling feedback and it means we were ready for the heavenly denouement because we’d been through the glorious mill by then.
