EXROYALE – You Can’t Hide

I was hoping for a tune in pastel colours to match that moniker. And what a light presence it was, as if EXROYALE were here to rid themselves of demons but go about it with kid gloves so we’re not left in a similar predicament ourselves. It reminded me of Radiohead I must say, all those drifting melancholic harmonies – flying and crying as it goes and this becomes restorative stuff because it is all about letting it out in the open. But that is not enough because EXROYALE’s Josh Schroeder takes it to a spiritual level and as a result ‘You Can’t Hide’ becomes that rare thing that is both thoughful, sad and uplifting. KH
