You know this Finnish act have a way about them that is suggestive of personalities of depth and it leads us up the garden path to a tune that is the very definition of surprise around every corner. There are sixties references in there (as well as flashes of Future Island’s ‘Seasons’) and it is mildly experimental, which means you might need a couple of go’s before it all clicks but make no mistake there is a story to tell when it comes to ‘Ghostwriter’. The music brings with it a sense of escapism with the narrator telling us what’s what, while never dampening that break for the border and a better life. KH
