There is a softness to this musical presentation from Connecticut’s Emily Shirley, and for a track that deals in all of the realities of life. All set off with a lovely turn of tempo that throws plenty of Beach Boys harmonies our way. ‘High Road’ sounds like something that has been with us for much longer than a few minutes, it is capable of summoning up precious childhood memories because there is magic in the air and a sense of wonder that most of us have lost along the way.
