There is a sweetness to ‘Benji’, low-key and achieved through Max DiFrisco’s vocals that remind of James Dean Bradfield but tailored with an eye/ear for catching and retaining us. Westhead see fit to offer a bloom too, where when we least expect it a form of eloquence and celebration are ushered in. We’re also invited to waltz and the swelled orchestral arrangements mean that we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to find our romantic streak again, after it was thought to have perished on the rocks of daily life long ago.
