Is this a more calmer Toledo (Brooklyn based Daniel Alvarez and Jordan Dunn-Pilz) I thought to myself or am I just reading it as Tornado each time and expecting a whirling wind of endeavour. But enough idle speculation because there is so much beauty in ‘Sunday Funday’ to enjoy and it most reminds me of peak of Monkees who were just so much more than ‘I’m A Believer’. And I heard it here deep in the cracks of this track, a reliance on pure melody that is such a rare commodity these days. We’ve always known they’ve had it but now and then Toledo just go and blow expectations out of the water. KH
