The one thing Oslo’s the Slow Painters will never do is bore you thanks to the company supplied by their wild and unfettered ways. And you know you really have to admire a band who’ve been on the go for a decade and a half and have only now finally come around to releasing their self-titled debut LP. This track from the album is characteristic of their raw abandonment, nothing is trained in and it often comes across like Cymbals Eat Guitars with more jangly bits. You’ll hear plenty of 90’s touchstones and the extended instrumental break here had me adjusting volumes to concentrate the nostalgic high. KH
