Such lithe goings on and the kind that you might reserve for summer rambles in the countryside such is its ornate side. Simple execution but not without out its little tricks (brass) and cherubic aspects to make for a song that is out of step with the overproduced nature of many of today’s releases. This comes from a place where releases (on vinyl) were events rather than 10-sec distractions before quickly moving on. What is even better is that Sonny has that Ron Sexsmith likeability and so we felt instantly comfortable in his presence. ‘I guess I’ll search for a career’ he sings, all the while not understanding he is already forging a great one.
