That is a ghostly voice alright, the kind for the wee hours and a small drink before the onset of sleepy/wakey time. And it just drifts by without any pretense, the mere presence of natural talent to woo us. There is a rush to Lauren Ruth Ward territory when the temperature shifts and the elaborate arrangements kick in so ‘In The Morning’ becomes a grandiose statement of intent from this LA based artist. If truth be known A.O. Gerber is easy to fall for at any time of the day so her debut LP ‘Another Place To Need’, due in May, should make for essential listening. KH
