Strawberry Generation – When You Were Here And I Was Sad

Though that Glasgow sound is present this multi-national troupe (Singapore, Belgium, and the USA) boast none from the Scottish (and indie pop) capital. Still if you are in the market for a little Camera Obsura, Alvvays and old skool Belle & Sebastian you’ll be taken by the indie pop fluidity, slightly lo-fi but full of cascading arrangements and a voice with so much levity it could eradicate even the most brutal of moods. It’s difficult to make this kind of confection work but Strawberry Generation’s ‘When You Were Here And I Was Sad’ feels like a full bakery of the stuff. KH
