That homesick feeling can be prominent in the pit of our collective stomach’s at this time of year so it’s always good to hear it articulated with superior melody infusion. ‘Long Distance’ reminds us immediately of Pavement, the slacker approach is great but even more important is a winning chorus. New Hampshire’s Ian McFarland has been on our radar for some time but with ‘Long Distance’ his talent is finally clear to all. KH
