This may well be for those of you old enough to remember OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) and given it was produced by Sonic Boom of Spectrum and Spacemen 3 it has the authencity for conjuring past glories. Sweden’s Vola Tila (Johannes Henriksson and Richard Andersson) appear to be of the same volition as those electro pop pioneers, the chorus is king, with the success of ‘Turn Back Time’ achieved through a combination of sweeping synths and the extenuated sweetened vocals. Yep, the electricity is real and there is plenty more where that came from on Vola Tila’s debut EP ‘Personality Apocalypse’. KH
